Since losing 2023-24 All-Star Paolo Banchero to an oblique injury in their fifth game of the season, the Orlando Magic have managed to more than tread water, going 19-15 without the 22 year old and holding onto the fourth spot in the Eastern Conference. But they’ll hope a surge is on the way, as Banchero is expected to make his return on Friday night against the Milwaukee Bucks.
Banchero has been as advertised since the Magic took him with the No. 1 pick of the 2022 NBA draft following a singular brilliant year at Duke. Before going down against the Chicago Bulls on Oct 30, he was averaging a career high 29 points, 8.8 rebounds and 5.6 assists-per-game in the five game sample size.
