South African songstress Tyla has launched her second studio album, “A*POP,” comprising 14 tracks.
The album “A*POP” options visitor appearances from Babalwa M, MaWhoo, Liquideep, and Zara Larsson.
The album’s title itself hints at its ambition, a fusion of “Amapiano” and “pop,” a declaration of intent that it is a report located on the crossroads of genres, cultures, and continents.
Tyla crafts a venture that each honours her roots and pushes the boundaries of what pop music can sound like within the 2020s.
Tyla’s songwriting is common, with lyrics that talk to the expertise of discovering one’s place on this planet whereas navigating relationships and ambition.
Tyla collaborated with varied producers on the album, together with Akeel Henry, Ari PenSmith, Believve, Cole Ostrin, Ian Kirkpatrick, Sammy Soso, and P2J.
The album’s message is evident: African music isn’t just a regional phenomenon, however a driving pressure shaping the sound of the longer term.
Tyla introduced that she can be embarking on the A*POP World Tour, which can go to Africa, Europe, the UK, and the US.
The tour will function 34 dates, happening between October 2026 and January 2027.
