Grammy award-winning singer Tyla has reacted to the withdrawal of a finalist of the Miss South Africa pageant Chidimma Adetshina.

Grammy-winning South African singer Tyla has reacted to the withdrawal of Chidimma Vanessa Onwe Adetshina, a Miss South Africa finalist from the peagant amidst a public outburst regarding her nationality.

Adetshina, a model with Nigerian and Mozambican roots, found herself at the center of a nationality controversy in July after advancing to the round of 16 in the Miss South Africa beauty pageant. Despite being a Top 11 finalist, she recently exited the competition following allegations from the South African Department of Home Affairs that her mother might have engaged in fraud and identity theft.

In response, Tyla expressed her disappointment over the treatment Adetshina received, stating that she was unfairly driven out of the competition. Sharing a report on Adetshina’s withdrawal via X, Tyla wrote: “Disappointed that this happened to her, but wish you all the best girl. Kill it!”

She further added, “I will always stand with South Africa, but regardless of opinions, she was bullied, and that’s something I don’t support.”
