World-class production and staging will explode on the National Stadium in Kingston for the Freedom Street Concert on New Year’s Eve; think Las Vegas! After 13 long years, Gaza Boss, VYBZ KARTEL, is back from his incarceration and the countdown has begun to be the most anticipated event in Jamaican history. He plans on delivering a show like no one has ever seen before. Although Vybz’ music is not always aligned with World A Reggae’s focus on our platform, we cannot go around this one.
ONCE-IN-A-LIFETIME DANCEHALL EXTRAVAGANZA
Vybz Kartel is in deep, daily rehearsals for the event with his teams of dancers and guest stars led by choreographer Rebel (a star of the PTR crew from the hit series Dancehall Life).
Staging will include a never-done-before gigantic theatre in the round with huge 360° sound, lights, video, and lasers on such a scale that it is requiring staging and crews to be flown in from London, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas.
In addition to non-stop music from Kartel & Friends and choreographed dancing, the over-the-top production includes a laser light show and a fantastic fireworks display make it a night to remember! Celebrities and fans from around the world are flying in for this lavish event.
Event Producer Joe Bogdanovich states, “We’re talking about a New Year’s Eve that will rewrite the rules, shake the ground, and echo through the ages! Freedom Street is more than a name; it’s a gathering, a movement, and a declaration that the “Worl’ Boss” is returning to his throne!”
ALL-STAR LINE UP
Vybz Kartel is bringing an army of international stars to support and perform with him and his return to the stage. He will be joined on stage by Spice, Popcaan, Skillibeng, Tommy Lee, Chronic Law, Shawn Storm, Lisa Hyper, Sheba, Gaza Indu, Likkle Addie and Likkle Vybz. The host of the evening is MC Nuffy. Known for his unmatched energy, quick wit, and ability to mash up ANY event, Nuffy is ready to take the National Stadium by storm on December 31.

VYBZ KARTEL
Adidja Azim Palmer, better known as Vybz Kartel, is a Jamaican dancehall deejay. He is called “Worl’ Boss” or “Teacha” among his various nicknames. Vybz is one of Jamaica’s most popular artists and collaborated with performers such as Jay-Z, Eminem, and Rihanna. His best-known hits include “Clarks”, “Ramping Shop” and “Summer Time”, and his success led to him launching lines of shoes, alcohol, and condoms. The singer had been incarcerated since 2011 following his arrest and subsequent murder conviction. He was found guilty in 2014 for the killing of Clive “Lizard” Williams, a man who was allegedly murdered over the disappearance of two illegal firearms.
The singer also became the first dancehall artist to star in his own reality TV show, “Teacha’s Pet.”
