The Buffalo Bills announced on Friday that tight end Dalton Kincaid has been ruled out of Sunday’s game against the unbeaten Kansas City Chiefs due to a knee injury.
Kincaid suffered a left knee injury during the team’s Week 10 win over the Indianapolis Colts.
While the second-year player has only recorded five or more receptions in two of the Bills’ 10 games, Kincaid leads the team with 59 targets. His 34 receptions are second to wide receiver Khalil Shakir’s 48. Kincaid also has two TDs.
With Kincaid sidelined, Dawson Knox can expect to have an increased workload. Knox has 181 career receptions for 2,108 yards and 23 TDs. While he only has 10 receptions and one TD this season, an increased role for Knox would be nothing new for the experienced tight end.
At the wide receiver position, head coach Sean McDermott confirmed that rookie Keon Coleman is again out with a wrist injury. Amari Cooper, battling a wrist injury, is expected to be questionable for Sunday.
Cooper told the media he is “definitely feeling better” and “definitely more comfortable.”
As the Bills prepare to host the two-time defending Super Bowl champion Chiefs on Sunday, Kincaid’s injury, in addition to the injuries at the wide receiver position, are going to provide an increased challenge for 8-2 Buffalo.
