As Buju Banton probably watches in disappointment as more shows on his Overcomer tour are postponed, he has released a remastered version of “Slogan” with producers Kemar McGregor and Dave Kelly on the Recoup Riddim. Perhaps it’s just me, but Buju’s recent work starts sounding quite repetitive to me. Every time he releases a new track, as a true fan of the singer, I find myself going back to his older, more ‘Reggae’ and less “Aggressive” material or his more humble collaboration with Bugle on “Thank You Lord,” which had a much deeper impact on me.
