Chelsea Football Club have confirmed the recalling of Aaron Anselmino from Boca Juniors after spending six months with the Argentine side since he signed for the Blues in August 2024.

The return of Aaron Anselmino was announced on the official website of Chelsea on Friday, January 3, 2025. According to reports from the Stamford Bridge club, the 19-year-old will be drafted immediately into Enzo Maresca’s first team as he is expected to join them in training ahead of the game against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

After signing a seven-year contract in August, the central defender is expected to continue his development in England. With Wesley Fofana and Berniot Badiashile out for a long period, this could be the perfect chance for him to break into the team.

Boca Juniors President, Juan Riquelme has tipped that Aaron Anselmino could be one of the best defenders in the world.

He said,

“With the growth, the head that he has and the desire to learn that he shows, he is on his way to being a great footballer. He is going to be a player for the national team. He is going to compete with the centre-backs.”

However, Chelsea supporters will hope that the 19-year-old finds his feet immediately as they look to fill in the gap left by Fofana.
