Chelsea started their Europa Conference League quest on a winning note in their qualifying game vs Servette at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues won the first leg of their UEFA Conference League play-off round tie against Servette at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea vs Servette did not give the supporters a lot to anticipate despite having not played in the competition in the club’s history.
Christopher Nkunku scored from the penalty spot immediately after half-time to give the Blues the lead. Somehow it was not 2-0 when Marc Guiu missed a sitter just moments later.
It was two for Chelsea, though, with about 15 minutes of the game remaining. Noni Madueke, a second-half substitute, fired into the top corner after being fed through by Enzo Fernandez. The scorline remain at 2-0 with Chelsea taking a healthy advantage into next week’s second leg in Geneva, Switzerland.
