It’s not often that the Georgia Bulldogs find themselves on the wrong of the stick recruiting-wise, but they did just recently suffer a big loss in that regard.

Jared Curtis, five-star quarterback from Nashville, Tennessee, announced his decommitment from the Bulldogs on Thursday night.

“The recruiting process has been an exciting time and a huge learning experience for me,” Curtis said in a statement on X.

He thanked the Georgia coaching staff for its interest in him as a recruit, but he also broke the news that he feels he can’t remain committed at this time.

“This morning I spoke with Coach [Kirby] Smart and Coach [Mike] Bobo and let them know that I still love Georgia, but would like to take some more time to explore all my options so I can make the best, most informed decision for my future. I let them know it just doesn’t seem right or fair to stay committed while checking out other programs. I want people to know where I stand and I’ve learned that making big decisions takes time,” Curtis wrote.
