Tottenham Hotspur have announced a major change in its logo going into the rest of the 2024/25 season as they continue to put the club in a new direction.

Tottenham announced the new logo on its official website on Monday, November 18, 2024. The new one will not have the word, ” Tottenham Hotspur” beneath the Cockerell as against the old one that was written beneath it.

Why did Tottenham Hotspur change its logo?

The club’s official statement read thus,

“We have removed the curved ‘Tottenham Hotspur’ text from beneath the cockerel. This enables us to increase its scale across different environments and stand proud as a true icon for the Club.”

The North London club are one of the few clubs in Europe that are always changing their logo, this current logo was introduced to its supporters in 2013 which means it has lasted ten years.

When did Tottenham start using the Cockerell?

Spurs only started wearing the cockerel on their badge in 1921. It was a special addition to Tottenham’s kit for their FA Cup final against Wolves. They won the game 1-0.
