In a game they never trailed, the Green Bay Packers defeated the San Francisco 49ers in dominating fashion, 38-10.
Running back Josh Jacobs could not be stopped. Jacobs punctuated his efficient day on the ground with his third TD of the game early in the fourth quarter.
With 26 carries for 106 yards and three TDs, Jacobs became the first Packer with 100 or more rush yards and three rush TDs at Lambeau Field since 1999, per the FOX Sports broadcast. Sunday was also Jacobs’ third career game with three or more TDs.
QB Jordan Love was 13-of-23 for 163 yards and two TDs. Sunday marked the first game this season that Love did not throw an interception. Coming into the game, Love had 11 interceptions on the season, which is tied for the most in the NFL, according to TeamRankings.
On the defensive side, Xavier McKinney continued his impressive season with his league-leading seventh interception.
It was a much different story for San Francisco. With starting QB Brock Purdy not playing due to a shoulder injury, the 49ers were unable to find any consistency.
The 49ers were held to just 44 yards rushing, turned the ball over three times and had nine penalties for 77 yards. San Francisco did not record a first down until midway through the second quarter.
The struggles for San Francisco continue to persist after losing to the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVIII. The 49ers fall to 5-6, while the Packers improve to 8-3 and avenge their loss to San Francisco in last season’s divisional playoff game.
Going forward, the 49ers will need to get healthy if they are going to make a postseason run. Along with Purdy, the 49ers were without EDGE rusher Nick Bosa (left hip/oblique) and left tackle Trent Williams (ankle) on Sunday.
The Packers head into a Thanksgiving night matchup with the Miami Dolphins before two crucial division road games at the Detroit Lions (Dec. 5) and the Minnesota Vikings (Dec. 29).
