Italian artists Rankin Lele and Papa Leu have released their latest music video for “Mesura,” a powerful track that draws from the wisdom of Salento proverbs to inspire balance in a fast-paced world. The refrain, “A ddu nu ncede mesura de sicuru se face sula” (“Where balance is lacking, it is found on its own” ), echoes the song’s message of harmony, reminding us that nature has a way of restoring itself and reclaiming its space.

With the strength of their Salento dialect, Rankin Lele and Papa Leu create a bridge between generations, using ancestral wisdom to address today’s pressing issues. Their artistry emphasizes themes of simplicity, gratitude, and the protection of the environment, reminding us of the fragility of the beauty we often take for granted.

The music video, directed by Mosè Ferrari with editing by Maria Gabriella Palumbo, captures scenes from Puglia, including a dancehall party in Fasano and the San Raffaele festival in Trepuzzi. The iconic trulli and lush landscapes offer the perfect setting for “Mesura’s” message of sustainable living and cultural preservation. Featuring the instrumental work of Fossa-Garofalo-Leo from the Bag a Riddim band (known collaborators of Sud Sound System and Richie Stephens), the track’s vibrant rhythms embody the duo’s commitment to an artistically rich yet conscious reggae culture.

Mesura stands as both a soundtrack and a call to action, encouraging listeners to embrace a balanced lifestyle that respects the natural world and cherishes cultural heritage.
