Dutty Rock Productions, owned by dancehall superstar Sean Paul, has reimagined the iconic Showtime Riddim with a fresh 2024 project titled Dutty Showtime. Originally created by Dave Kelly, the Showtime Riddim became legendary in the 1990s for its high-energy beats and influence on the Jamaican music scene. Now, Dutty Showtime breathes new life into this classic, bringing together some of reggae and dancehall’s biggest names alongside promising newcomers.

Sean Paul highlights the collaborative spirit behind the new riddim, crediting Sukku from Ward 21, News from Money Matters Entertainment, Copper Shaun, and his brother Jigzag for contributing to the updates. “We’ve adjusted the keys and speed to give the riddim a fresher bounce,” Sean Paul shares. “It’s designed to bring a positive vibe every time people hear it.”

The project features powerhouse artists like Buju Banton, Busy Signal, Chi Ching Ching, Charley Black, and Tarrus Riley while also spotlighting emerging talents such as J’Calm, Sotto Bless, and the talented Ras Ajai. Sean Paul contributes with his hit single “Bring It, a track that blends nostalgic ’90s dancehall with a modern twist.

With Dutty Showtime, fans can experience a revitalized version of a riddim that remains an essential part of dancehall history, now infused with a vibrant energy designed to uplift and celebrate the enduring spirit of reggae and dancehall music.
