Super Eagles forward player, Victor Osimhen has reportedly agreed to join Turkish-based side, Galatasaray on a loan deal until the end of this season ( 2024/25).

Victor Osimhen agreed to move to Galatasaray after he experienced two failed transfers from Al Ahli and Chelsea. According to reports, the Nigerian international will link up with Galatasaray to have his medicals and complete his move away from Napoli.

Transfer news expert, Fabrizio Romano confirmed in a post on his official social media accounts on Monday, September 2, 2024, that Osimhen is asking for a reduction in his buy-out clause which is within the range of €75 million from the initial €130 million.

It was initially reported that the Turkish side will cover almost €10 million of his wages which he currently earns at Napoli but they are not obligated to buy him at the end of the loan deal. It’s also understood that Napoli will extend Osimhen’s contract by a year until 2027 in order to protect his value, but are still intending to sell their prize asset in 2025.

Sky Sports Italia also confirmed that Galatasaray’s decision to go in search of a striker was due to the injury to Mauro Icardi who could be out for a long time. The club is also open to the option of playing two strikers upfront when Icardi returns from injury.
