Arizona State running back Cam Skattebo’s bark was bigger than his bite during the first half of Wednesday’s Peach Bowl against Texas.

Earlier this week, Skattebo made waves by boldly proclaiming himself the country’s best running back.

“There’s nobody out there that can stop me,” Skattebo said.

At halftime, Skattebo had 13 carries for 45 yards, and Arizona State trailed 17-3.

He was visibly upset after being stopped on several carries, including a 4th-and-2 on the first play of the second quarter. ESPN sideline reporter Kris Budden described Skattebo as “incredibly frustrated.”

“Came down, threw his helmet. He’s really upset with the protections,” Budden said. “He…stormed away from his coaches and said, ‘I’m done with this. We have a game to play.”

“He needs to find his poise in order to get back into this game,” Budden accurately diagnosed.
