Denver Broncos rookie quarterback Bo Nix is dicing up the Atlanta Falcons in Sunday’s home game.

With the Broncos leading 21-6 early in the third quarter, Nix threw a seven-yard touchdown to rookie wide receiver Troy Franklin on a 2nd-and-goal.

Nix dominated in the first half against Atlanta. According to Pro Football Focus, the 2024 No. 12 overall pick had 191 yards passing, two TD passes and a 100% adjusted completion percentage.

Nix, 24, seems to be finding his groove. Over his past three games, the Oregon product has completed 69% of his passes for five TDs and one interception.

On Thursday, he earned NFL Rookie of the Week after completing 22-of-30 passes for 215 yards and two TDs in a 16-14, Week 10 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.

If Nix keeps improving, he could become the franchise QB the Broncos have desperately needed for nearly a decade. Since Hall of Famer Peyton Manning retired in 2016, the Broncos have had 14 starting QBs, including Nix.

Nix’s progress should give the franchise reasons for optimism.
