The Kansas City Chiefs‘ opening drive in Sunday’s road game against the Buffalo Bills ended in disaster.

On a 2nd-and-3 at Kansas City’s 37-yard line, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes dropped back, but the pocket started to collapse. Mahomes tried to make a play but lobbed an errant pass that Bills safety Taylor Rapp intercepted.

Interceptions have been a problem throughout Mahomes’ career. He’s thrown 12 or more picks in a season four times in eight years with the Chiefs. The three-time Super Bowl champion had nine interceptions through his first nine games this season.

Like Mahomes, Allen is interception-prone. He has thrown 10 or more in a season five times in seven years with Buffalo.

However, Allen is taking much better care of the ball this season. He only threw four picks in his first 10 games.

The Chiefs should find out how the Bills are helping Allen play cleaner. That would make one of the best QBs in the NFL even better and could help them win a third straight Super Bowl.
