On making the album and its inspirations:
“The thought for this album got here through the interval of social isolation through the Covid-19 pandemic… I keep in mind that, at one level, I made a decision to activate a number of machines on the similar time and experiment with them whereas leaving an 8-channel recorder on…[and] some concepts converged. I managed to assemble some mates at Estúdio Salinha, in São Paulo, and we completed the recordings in two days.
“Discovering inspiration in on a regular basis life which brings us frequent on a regular basis experiences generally is a wealthy supply of inspiration. Moreover, being surrounded by individuals who encourage me, who’ve completely different views and life experiences, generally is a invaluable supply of recent concepts. Exchanging concepts and interacting with these individuals can open artistic paths and options naturally and unconsciously.”
On the gear used:
“For the electronics I used two synthesizers (Doepfer Darkish Vitality, Artura Microbrute), two digital drums (Elektron machinedrum, Arturia Drum Brute), an SP404 sampler, a Yamaha Tenori-on and results pedals. For the extra natural layers, devices similar to drums, percussion, guitar, electrical bass, viola and an organ had been used.”
On the collaborators:
I selected these individuals as I had already labored with them on different musical tasks. I invited Carla Boregas (from Rakta) and Lello Bezerra (sound artist and improviser) as a result of I had lengthy been excited about their sound and the distinctive strategy that every of them has in deconstructing and manipulating sound. I love the way in which they discover their devices and machines in an progressive and artistic means.”
On São Paulo:
I can’t say that São Paulo conjures up me in a selected and deliberate means or in a single course. My relationship with the town is marked by many conflicts and I query it on a regular basis. It pulls me in numerous instructions, continually difficult me. So on the finish of the day, it actually influences me in a sure means.”
